By car
The M4 from London, the M6 from the North West and the M1/M42 from the North East link up with the M5 to Devon, from where you can join the A30 to Moretonhampstead, our nearest town. North Bovey is a five-minute drive from here.
By train
Regular services leave London Paddington and London Waterloo for Exeter St Davids and Newton Abbot, and take about two-and-a-half hours. Singles start at £12. Due to the remoteness of the cottage, we recommend hiring a car. Abbeyford Car Hire deliver vehicles to Exeter St Davids station (01392 214242, www.abbeyfordcarhire.co.uk); Practical Car Rental is based in Newton Abbot (01626 331591, www.practical.co.uk). Fares to North Bovey from Exeter are about £35, and £25 from Newton Abbot.
By air
The nearest international airports are Exeter (a 40-minute drive away), Plymouth (50 mins), and Bristol (1hr 50 mins). The cottage is a three-hour drive from London Heathrow and is four hours from Gatwick airport.
