Terms and conditions
Payment
The balance must be paid six weeks prior to your stay. We reserve the right to cancel reservations not paid in full six weeks prior to the arrival date. A non-refundable £100 holding deposit is required to reserve a stay more than six weeks in advance. This will be deducted from your balance on full payment.
Damage to property
A £300 damage deposit must be received three days prior to arrival. We will refuse entry without receipt of a damage deposit, and will not refund the cost of the stay. The person who booked the accommodation is responsible to the owner for the costs of extra cleaning, breakage or damage to the cottage which are caused by you or your party. These costs will be deducted from your £300 deposit, but are not limited to that amount. You may be billed for repairs that cost over £300. No repairs of any kind to the property or contents must be attempted by you or your party. Any damage must be reported immediately to the owners. without. The deposit balance will be returned to you within seven days of your departure.
Cancellations and changes
Payments are non refundable. However, if we manage to re-let the property, we will refund you in full, less your £100 reservation deposit. We recommend you take out travel insurance to cover against unforeseen circumstances. We reserve the right to cancel your stay at short notice if unexpected circumstances arise. In this case, we will refund you the cost of your stay in full or offer you an alternative date.
Use of property
Only the agreed number of guests must stay at the property. We do not accept children aged between 18 months and 14 years unless by prior arrangement.
Extreme weather
We will not issue refunds if heavy snowfall or other extreme weather means you are unable to travel. We recommend you take out holiday insurance to cover for this eventuality. In the event of heavy snow, we will do our best to get you to and from the cottage from Moretonhampstead by four-wheel drive or tractor.
Fair usage policy
Usage of electricity, complimentary toiletries or food items which the owner deems to be excessive will be charged at our discretion. Molton Brown bottles left empty or removed from the property will be charged at £10 each.
Fire risk
Barbecues and smoking indoors is strictly forbidden.
Complaints and difficulties
Please inform us of any problems immediately. We will deal with them straight away. If a serious problem arises that we cannot resolve by the evening, we will book you into alternative accommodation of a similar standard.
Right to evict
The owner reserves the right to evict guests without compensation in the case of anti-social behaviour, unreasonable breakages, if smoking restrictions are not observed, if visitors are causing a fire risk, if the accommodation is being misused, or if there is a breach of these terms and conditions.
No tenancy
The agreement is for the reservation period only and is not intended to create the relationship of landlord and tenant between the visitor and the owner. The visitor shall not be entitled to a tenancy, or to any assured shorthold or assured tenancy or any statutory protection under the Housing Act 1988 or other statutory security of tenure now or upon termination of the agreement.
Keys
Lost keys will be charged at £10 per key.
Bovey Castle membership card
Loss of the Bovey Castle membership card will be charged at £20. You will be required to post the card back to us if you take it away with you. You will be charged £5 for each day it is missing.
Accidents, injury and personal property
The owner has no liability to you for the death or personal injury to you or any member of your party. We suggest you take out travel insurance to cover you for personal injury during your stay. We are not responsible for any loss, damage or theft to your personal property during your stay.
Right of entry
We reserve the right to enter the property to inspect it or carry out necessary repairs or maintenance during your stay.
