The log-burning stove will be laid ready for you to light, with marshmallows for toasting and logs to last a week. There’s a deep, feather-filled sofa, comfortable armchairs, a window seat with views of our walled rose garden, state-of-the-art Sonos system, television with Netflix and Amazon Prime, complimentary travel and design magazines and a library of beautiful coffee-table books.
The dining area is in one-half of the living room, so you can dine in front of the crackling fire. We provide beautiful Sophie Conran crockery, fine table linens, candles and stylish serving ware. There’s comfortable seating for four.
Our luxury Devon cottage kitchen may be small, but it’s perfectly formed and stocked with everything you need to cook that Sunday afternoon roast. It’s stocked with sharp Global knives, Brissi table linen, a dishwasher, store cupboard basics and a range of cookery books to inspire the foodie in you.
Your bed is king-sized and comfortable as a cloud, with ultra-soft, 600 thread-count Egyptian cotton bedsheets layered with plump pillows. Our village is incredibly peaceful: the only sounds are birdsong, distant church bells and the occasional clip-clopping of horses’ hooves. The views are stunning: pastures and hills grazed by wild ponies.
It’s hard to choose which bedroom is more luxurious! Our second bedroom has a fabulously comfortable king-sized bed, which can be split into two narrow singles for a £15 fee. There’s a large French armoire, romantic window seat with village views, ironwork made by our local blacksmith and library.
Upstairs, the cottage’s luxury bathroom has a huge vintage copper slipper bath (named by the Evening Standard as one of the UK’s best), powerful rainstorm shower, underfloor heating, White Company toiletries, fluffy towels, slippers and cosy dressing gowns.
Our sunny walled garden is garlanded with honeysuckle, clematis and stocked with delicately-scented David Austin Old English roses, lavender and herbs. There’s outdoor seating for four, a shaded bench seat, lawn and a small pond planted with beautiful water lilies, irises and hostas.
