Moorland View is in North Bovey, one of Devon’s prettiest thatched villages, made up of clusters of thatched stone cottages grouped around an oak-shaded green, a 13th century church and friendly village pub, The Ring of Bells.

The village is surrounded by sheep-filled pastures, ancient woodlands and tinkling streams, and is incredibly peaceful. The only sounds you’ll hear are distant church bells, birdsong and the occasional clip-clopping of horses’ hooves.

Dartmoor National Park, one of the UK’s last remaining wildernesses, is on the doorstep, with 365-square-miles of pristine countryside to explore. Dating from 1704 and Grade II-listed, this former farm labourers’ cottage has immense historical charm, with a thatched roof, wood-beamed walls, exposed stonework, flagstone floors, inglenook fireplace, original 1705 date plate and pretty walled cottage garden.

The cottage has been decorated in a modern rustic style using natural local materials, including ironwork forged by our village blacksmith, Dartmoor sheepskins, rush lampshades and hand-turned wooden bowls. Walls are decorated with vintage farm finds and photographs of local artisans, and the stylish, soulful interiors have been featured in countless interior and design magazines, including The English Home and Country Homes and Interiors.
