FOOD EXPERIENCES
Devon offers a rich mix of unique food experiences, from vineyard tours and cheese tastings to gin-making courses, farmers’ markets and seasonal food festivals. You’ll also find floating cafés, relaxed beach shacks, and even the option of a private picnic boat drifting along the River Dart.
Guests of Moorland View receive our Secret Devon Guide, sharing our most trusted recommendations and practical tips on how – and when – to enjoy these experiences at their best.
COTTAGE KITCHEN
Our small but perfectly formed cottage kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook with ease, including professional-quality kitchen knives. To inspire the foodie in you, you’ll find a carefully chosen collection of cookery books, along with store-cupboard basics, cooking oils, herbs and spices.
HONESTY BOXES
Keep an eye out for delicious homemade produce sold by food-loving locals from their doorsteps. Expect chunky jams made with allotment-grown fruit, freshly baked cakes, summer cordials, organic eggs and wildflower honey. It’s country living at its best.
We are happy to share details of our favourite honesty boxes with guests during their stay.
PRIVATE CHEF
Push the boat out on your Devon food break, with a bespoke dining experience. Harrie Kivell is a highly regarded private fine-dining chef who will prepare you a gourmet three-course meal in the cottage’s kitchen while you sit back and relax.
